Situated mid-hillside with extraordinarily beautiful views of Cortona – especially at sunset – this ready-to-walk-into property which has a particular sense of serenity to it, TICKS ALL BOXES.
It abounds with charm, its interior design is stunning, its views are spectacular and it has all mod-cons. Access is excellent, it is within walking distance of a restaurant and village, it has a large covered pool 12 m x 6 m and although private, is not isolated.
Villa Piazzano, a very lovely hotel with garden and pool and which caters for both lunches and dinners, is just a stroll away. Also within walking distance are the villages of Pergo and Montanare.
In Montanare there is an excellent restaurant, Il Mollino, owned by the Baracchi family who also own the famous Il Falconiere restaurant/hotel and who produce fine wines under the Baracchi label.
In Pergo there is the Relais and restaurant Corte dei Papi, a well frequented bar with outside seating which has an eclectic mix of both resident foreigners and Italians, a pizzeria and very well stocked delicatessen/mini-supermarket. Cortona is just a short 8km drive away.
The property is early 18th century and was bought by the current owners in 2006.
Since then, the 3 bathrooms have been renewed, the 2 kitchens re-designed and a 'state of the art' heating system installed. The swimming pool has been changed to salt water and is covered by a telescopic, easy to open, roof. The entire property is furnished to the highest of standards.
The property stands in mature and well-maintained grounds of approx. 2 hectares with various outdoor seating areas either for dining 'al fresco' or enjoying sundowners while watching the sunset over Cortona. The current owners have caretakers, happy to continue this position, who look after the property throughout the year
