Chianina & Syrah 2026, Cortona
Do you love Tuscany? Do you enjoy Syrah? Are you a fan of Chianina beef? Are you a wine-lover? Are you keen on cooking? In Cortona from March 7-9, 2025, there is a festival that celebrates the very best that Tuscany has to offer. Two splendid locations, numerous events, one goal: Live Well.
The ancient Etruscan town of Cortona, with its historic palazzi, narrow cobblestoned streets, and craft shops has long been the home to Chianina & Syrah. Much of the 2026 edition of the festival will take place at the Sant’Agostino monastery, located at 40 Via Guelfa, a site that dates back to the 13th century, now frequently used for international conferences.
There is a rich program of talks, master classes, cooking demonstrations, and tastings that will take place in the rooms that surround the ancient cloister, each of which is decorated with frescoes depicting episodes from the life of Saint Augustine.
The two gala dinners, will take place in the elegant neoclassical Teatro Signorelli, designed by Carlo Gatteschi in 1854, and located in the piazza of the same name in the center of Cortona.
Take part in a rich three-day program that includes: culinary events, tastings of the finest Syrah wines, talks, cultural events, concerts, master classes, cooking demonstrations, presentations by local artisans working in the food and wine sector, and gala dinners cooked by the most celebrated chefs working in Italian cuisine. Join us in Cortona, the capital of Syrah, as we focus on what makes Italian and international Syrah wines so special.
Chianina & Syrah” brings together two superb products from our corner of Tuscany – Cortona DOC wines and Chianina IGP beef – in one major epicurean event that spotlights the best Syrah wines from both Italy and abroad.
Although today Cortona is considered a hotspot for Italian Syrah, our story actually began many years ago, when members of the winemaking D’Alessandro family intuited that the Syrah cultivar would thrive and reach its maximum expression in this terroir. Our festival celebrates the hard work that goes into producing the products that we love and the actual fruits of this land – home to Chianina cattle and the Syrah grape.
