The exhibition of Beato Angelico

a reference to a billion ideas, memories and sensations ...

The exhibition of Beato Angelico, for me, Nicola Burazzi…...It was a reference to a billion ideas, memories and sensations ...
Blessed Angelico, a Dominican friar, who spent part of his life also in Cortona, painted beauty with the sensitivity of a minister, living a truly pious life, so much so that he was close to becoming Bishop of Florence, a huge role considering the importance and richness of his Florence.
He made me touch the importance of the predelles and cusps, which accompanied the main work, contextualising it, informing and instructing the people who watched it, largely illiterate
In his works and in those of contemporary artists, exhibited, I glimpsed the details of the Renaissance houses, perfectly represented, the clothes and architecture of the time ...
And again, the representation of the miracles of San Nicola, which saves a ship from shipwreck, with sails full of wind, so similar to those of the Rucellai porches, a family coat of arms, which in that case referred to their fortune ...
I found the earthenware of the Della Robbia, of which my small town, Foiano della Chiana, is a proud ambassador, having scattered in all the churches, I reviewed the plasticity of hell, portrayed being pushed by Dante's circles, a real explanation of hell that has been for centuries the richest image of the fate of the damned or, simply, of those who put themselves on the wrong side of the trench ... if it is true that history and in particular the history of art is the ability to connect artists and paintings, this exhibition is great and inevitable and will give you many of those Ideas that will take years to carry them forward and disperse them ..
In the meantime, in the agency, we have a catalogue in English, fully available to those who are curious
