CORTONA PROFILES - NO. 1

The first DelBrenna to turn his hand to jewelry making was Giovanni DelBrenna - a Florentine count - in 1201...

Cortona, throughout its long history, has  been the inspiration for many artistic individuals, from Henry James’ “Italian Hours” to local artisans handcrafting ‘one of a kind’ works of art and the many art students who come to study the beginnings of what we know as art today.
We would like to introduce you to a wonderful combination of the Italian and American relationship in the persons of Megan and Sebastian Ghezzi, the representatives of the DelBrenna family who have been handcrafting jewelry for three generations.
Sebastian’s father, Massimo, is the founder of the brand and creator of the methodology used to construct the classic handmade chain design which is the basis for their line of jewelry.

In speaking with Sebastian DelBrenna, the artisan, and his American wife, Megan, they will tell you that their mission is to spread the love that they have found through the beautiful, inspired designs of their handcrafted jewelry. Sebastian and Megan first met in 2003 when She came to Italy to study architecture. Sebastian will joke that she came to study Italian art and found a work of Italian art…named Sebastian.
The couple married in 2006 and, with the blessings of Sebastian’s father, two years later, opened their first boutique in the center of Cortona. In 2013 Megan and Sebastian moved their showroom to the cellar of an ancient noble family home in the center of cortona.
The Del Brenna brand continues to grow  by producing high quality unique pieces with a Cortonese flair. They have now launched a second boutique in Kansas City, USA  and hope to continue to grow.
Be sure to visit their website www.delbrenna.com for more information. They invite you to stop by their showroom in the center of Cortona where you will always find a warm welcome - something we have come to recognize as being truly Cortonese.
